Before anything else, the price. Our Curaçao VPS starts at $137 for the Jupiter plan, which is a high entry price for a server with 1 GB of memory. So this location is worth it when you actually need an address on the island or users close to it. If you just need a Linux box somewhere, you do not need to pay for Willemstad.
Who needs a server on the island
Curaçao is an island in the southern Caribbean, off the coast of Venezuela, and a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Willemstad is its capital. Papiamentu, Dutch and English are the official languages, and Spanish is widely spoken too.
A VPS in Curaçao gives you a local IP address and a short route to visitors on the island and nearby, including Aruba and Bonaire. That helps in a few specific cases:
- Local businesses that want their website served from the island rather than from another continent.
- Companies whose partners, payment providers or regulators expect a service to run from a Curaçao address.
- Teams that want to see how their app or site behaves for users in the Caribbean before a launch.
What the four Curaçao VPS plans share
Several things are identical on every plan: 50 GB of disk, one IP address, 1000 GB of monthly transfer and a bandwidth figure listed as unlimited. The port speed is not capped in the table, but the monthly transfer is, so plan your traffic around the 1000 GB figure. For most business sites and APIs that is a comfortable amount.
Where they differ
- Jupiter, $137: 1 GB of memory and 1 core.
- Mars, $163: 2 GB and 2 cores.
- Venus, $217: 4 GB and 4 cores.
- Mercury, $253: 8 GB and 4 cores.
Mars is the plan most small websites will want, since 2 GB leaves room for a database next to the web server. Venus doubles both memory and cores. Mercury keeps the 4 cores and doubles memory again, which suits caching layers, Java applications or several containers side by side.
The disk does not grow
Storage stays at 50 GB from Jupiter to Mercury. That is plenty for an application, its logs and a mid-sized database, but not for large media libraries or file archives. If you need both a Caribbean address and a lot of storage, keep the heavy files at another location and serve only the part that has to be close to island users from Willemstad.
Setting up the server
Curaçao is a Linux-only location. There is no Windows Server or MikroTik here. You pick Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux or CentOS and connect over SSH as root, with full control over what you install, from a web server and database to a hosting control panel.
Two routine jobs are yours to do from the client area: reinstalling the operating system and rebooting the server. Anything beyond that goes to our level-1 support team, which is free and answers tickets 24/7. Live chat on the website works for quick questions. Each virtual private server in Curaçao has dedicated resources on enterprise-grade hardware, is monitored, and runs to a 99.9% uptime target.
